Radisson Blu Alibaug - Serene & Green, Amazing Spa

Rooms facing pool - the ground floor ones give jump in access!

3 visits so far to this serene resort. I like it because the mango trees and water bodies calm my soul on immediately on arrival!

If we aren't driving there (no ferry access in the monsoons) we arrange pick up at the Mandwa jetty by the hotel car and after the check in with welcome drink, just dive into a relaxing weekend.

It is definitely a preferred get away destination. A mere 3-hour drive away from Bandra. The expansive tree-studded property provides a sense of calm far away from the hustle bustle of Mumbai city life. We make the pool and its surrounds the focus of our visit.

A great gym and a quiet well stocked library provide quality “me” time. We just about managed to get a spa appointment and learnt that most visitors block the spa treatments when they book their rooms.

On our 2nd visit, we stayed on the 1st floor, overlooking the pool. We had a lovely view of the pool and the mango trees laden with fruit. The aqua of the pool with the leafy green colour of the mangoes was very soul restoring!

What’s great:
Safe secure place for children to play – and lots of entertainment: From the indoor activity centre (table tennis, carom etc) to swimming in the lovely pool and the outdoor cricket play area.
The hotel was full, despite it, room service and housekeeping was always prompt!

Whats not:
The underwhelming food – basically the preparation and menu –
There was loads of food but really nothing nice EVER! Our friends – who visited for the 1st time, agreed on the food
However, Chef did help out by providing bacon and pork sausages when I asked for it at breakfast – so breakfast became good!

On one of the nights there was a party by the poolside with really mournful loud live Hindi singing. Thankfully it ended at 10 pm!

The towels in the bathroom looked OLD, not in keeping with the Radisson Blu brand!

Will I visit again? Maybe after a long interval, ONLY as its one of the nicer resorts near Mumbai
