View from our room |
Table Tennis |
We visited the The Retreat Hotel & Convention Centre 2 years running over the Diwali break. We went with family and friends.
We stayed in pool facing rooms and it provided a fabulous view of the pool, the beach and all around were the palm trees. Kids loved it – swimming in the gorgeous lagoon shaped with a water fall, the activity centre (Kids Club) with Table Tennis and other indoor games.
The package included all meals in the restaurant where they have a buffet. Meals here are similar to other resort hotels – even me - a fussy self-styled gourmand, managed to find something decent each time.
Went off for a walk on the beach early one morning. Just outside, is an active fishing community whose boats were coming in. lots of fish drying on the beach and occasionally – a strong whiff of dried fish in the hotel.
Kudos to the hotel for the handicapped access: The ramp to the lobby, wheel chair on the premises, access to the pool and a handicapped room made the stay for my parents, in their eighties, a pleasure.
I managed to all the things I seek during a short break – read, socialise and do nothing…..
The visit was relaxing, more so because it’s so easily accessible – a relaxing getaway without leaving the city.
Fun in the pool |
This is a repost of an old Tripadvisor review - Recommended for a short monsoon break ...
