Soft shell crab Bhurjee tarts

Smoked Patthar Ke Kabab

This is located in Bangalore in UB City, opposite my favourite Caperberry!

Tried to make a reservation by phone on a recent Friday for lunch while i was enroute to UB City and was turned down - landed up there, requested a table for 2 and was seated in a jiffy!

The menu is quite vast and beautifully illustrated.

First of all the Amuse Bouche arrived - one per head of a miniature egg shaped morsel of Mishti Doi with a strawberry topping  - tasty!

Here's what we had:

Chorizo and Scallion Paddu Tikki - tasty but couldn't taste the chorizo! The parmesan crisp it was served with and the gravy were really good

Smoked bacon and pyaaz ki kachori - avoid

Soft shell crab Bhurjee tart - lightly flavoured and delicious crabmeat served in crisp light pastry shells

Smoked Patthar Ke Kabab - disappointing - it was as if the beef fillets had been cooked in a gravy then served on a hibachi!!

Tempura fried prawn - amazing and strongly recommended - delicious light yummy creation and served with FOAM! I guess if its a Massive restaurant then foam is unavoidable

I had a non alcoholic drink with oranges - was refreshing and of course - served in a glass jam jar - of course - whats with all these jam jars and jars with handles??? whats wrong with a glass which looks like a glass?

The cafe is beautifully done up - great looking contemporary design - on the 3rd floor courtyard of UB City - i was there on a grey rainy day and moisture laden feel was refreshing

The plating of dishes is excellent

Service was v good

Great retro music

Loved the ambiance and buzz

i have still to decide whether i like regional fusion Indian food but till i decide i will visit the likes of Farzi Cafe and Bombay Canteen
