| Yacht we sailed in at Mandwa |
The best
thing about our recent weekend in Alibaug (Radisson) was sailing with Aquasail in
Mandwa harbour.
The
husband, me and 3 boys (10-12 years old) went sailing in 2 yachts at Mandwa. We
went to the Aquasail centre near the Mandwa jetty – got briefly instructed
after a welcome drink.
The
facility at Mandwa is an oasis of green, with large loos and shower facilities
(males and females). Also has some hammocks strung up in the garden for a nice
rest under the trees. Several yachts can be seen in a shed. Others are on the
beach and were beckoning to us..
After wearing
our life jackets, leaving our watches, phones wallets etc behind in safe keeping,
we crossed the road onto the beach where several yachts bobbed in the waves.
It was post
lunch, a beautiful breeze made sure the bright sunlight didn’t bother us at
all.
Into the
boats, (leaving our footwear behind), the kids in one with an instructor and
the adults in another – and off we went into the high seas!
Be ready
to get wet and learn how to handle the yacht (more like a dummies express guide)
It’s an
unbelievable experience to be on the water, experiencing the breeze in the
sails! Exhilarating – I can’t wait to go sailing again..
