This tiny Italian eatery
on Hill Road, opposite Kobe and Spice Tree and behind a bus stop is cute and definitely
worth a visit. We went recently on a working day and enjoyed a surprisingly
good lunch. M who insists on trying out new places, found it on www.zomato.com.
We were surprised to find
an empty but ornately decorated place (Renaissance style?). Display cases were full
of varieties of San Pellegrino Italian lemonade, muffins, breads and pastries.
The menu offers:
Paninis, salads, whole
wheat pastas, pizzettes and many varieties of deserts and coffees. A couple of options of each are available.
We started off with a bread
basket (good) which we shared. Followed it with Chicken Panini (excellent with
a Pesto sauce) and a grilled veg Panini (good enough). We shared an Italian chocolate slice
(delicious) and all of us had various coffees from their Italian coffee
machine. It cost us about Rs 550 per head.
The service was good and I
am waiting to return to eat the Chicken Panini again. Home delivery is
available.
Rating: good and tasty, not
hearty but decent portions
Picoli Tortini is air conditioned.
No valet parking and doesn’t serve alcohol.
