Went for a working lunch
at Nooba in DLF Cybercity last week. Was pleasantly surprised to see the lunch
time crowds.
Loved it for the super-fast
service with a smile and the good, satisfying meal.
G’s husband whose office
is in the same building recommended Nooba to us. The restaurant was packed when
we walked in. As it was only G and me, we got lucky as a table for 2 had just
become available. We had a quick look at the menu offering appetisers, dimsums,
soups, noodle soup bowls, rice and noodle bowls and a limited selection of
desert.
Though many people around
us were eating appetisers, we opted for a meal in a bowl as we were in a hurry
to go for our meeting upstairs. G had chicken in chili garlic sauce with
steamed rice, I had lamb with black bean sauce and steamed rice. Both arrived
fast, steaming hot and very tasty. The generous portion of rice surrounded by
chicken with exotic veggies was just the thing to satiate my hunger after a
pre-dawn flight from Mumbai.
We didn’t plan to eat
desert but couldn’t resist the aroma of warm brownie wafting around us. So we
had a brownie and ice cream. Along with an iced tea our bill came to around Rs
1200 inclusive of tip.
We were served by a
smiling server who managed all his tables with ease.
We were in and out within
35 to 40 minutes! Great timing for a hot meal on a working day.
While Nooba is not fine dining
its good for a working day lunch and I would certainly visit again.
There were several
Oriental guests to endorse Nooba’s claim to serve authentic Chinese food.
Its air conditioned and
has a bar.
