Need a break? Opt for a Stylish, Luxe Staycation @Sofitel BKC

Why you should you plan a French Luxury Staycation?

The important reasons to indulge in a staycation are given below:
X You need a break
The kids are troubling you
The mother is law is getting to you
Your mom is trying to improve you
X The door bell doesn’t stop ringing
X You need pampering – and who does luxe better then the French
3 day weekend where I don’t want to spend 1.5 days travelling to or fro/air fares have gone crazy
X No long weekend but I need a get away
After crossing 4 boxes, we decided a break is called for and opted for the nearby Sofitel BKC. We got packed quickly – books for me and husband and swim gear and within 20 minutes were checking in.

Our 1st ever staycation, we enjoyed it so much we've decided that this is what we will do whenever we need a "weekend getaway." No hassles of travel, we just made the most of our weekend, relaxing and spending time together.

Our bedroom

On a recent Saturday, we (husband, son and I ) checked into a Prestige Suite on the 8th floor; after a speedy check in we explored our suite. It comprised a stylish living area with sofa, armchairs, TV, Bose DVD system, desk, a well stocked and a washroom (WC); a spacious bedroom accommodated an extra bed for the teen aged boy with ease and another TV and Bose DVD player. The Illy coffee machine with capsules ensured our craving for good coffee was always met.

The TV in the loo!!

The most delightful surprise was the well appointed bathroom. The tub had a TV positioned so one could enjoy a soak while watching TV, also twin sinks, a separate show stall and WC!

After perusing the DVD menu, making a selection from the menu brought to us on an Ipad and booking spa treatments for the spouse and myself at the SoSpa - with L'Occitane, we went down for a swim.

The pool on the 3rd floor gave us outdoor exercise. Refreshed we ate pizzas ordered from room service and relaxed in our suite.

Later after our relaxing treatments at the Spa, in a couple treatment room, followed by drinks in the room, the husband and I went to dine at Jyran, the Indian restaurant to feast on the delicious Indian food – give Masala Library a pass and head here is you want really good Indian food in a refined ambiance.
Really worth it and strongly recommended. Make a reservation on weekends

Coffee - all varieties - heaven for a coffee lover

My break fast - followed by waffles, maple syrup, fruit and lots of coffee

Smoked salmon and doughnut for the boy

The Japanese section - Bento Box

The next morning we enjoyed a hearty breakfast at Pondichery Café – my 1st breakfast here. I’ve eaten recently at Trident BKC and Taj Landsend and Sofitel rocks!  From Sushi, to cold meats to smoked Salmon, bountiful fruit, waffles, pancakes and amazing cheese to a full fledged coffee section – we were amazed by the selection!
All good things come to an end so it was time for Au Revoir

We had such a good time we decided we must repeat the Staycation Sofitel style soon. The French style coupled with the well appointed room, the wonderful service and excellent food made this a weekend to remember.

So … when are you doing your staycation French style?
