Our 1st
visit to this property. Went for a 2 night stay. Though it was just the husband
and me for a well deserved do nothing break, it’s also great for children and
we will return with our 12 year old son.
Ground floor rooms near the reception |
Here’s
what I liked:
It retains
the greenery and old world charm of Mahabaleshwar. The 8 acre property is full
of trees and lots of flowers – even in end April!
The windows
have netting so one can keep the windows open and insects and monkeys (saw a
langur) out.
The Pool |
Good food-
we loved the “gourmet express” and had room service for dinner both nights. One
night – seekh kabab, reshmi kabab and mutton biryani. The next – mutton
roganjosh, stuffed kulcha and chicken reshmi
– all well made and served piping hot!
The lovely property |
Breakfast
had a large spread – I did see some sausages (chicken?) on someone’s plate but
it was probably on request like in Varca Beach Goa. Juices, cereals, lots of Indian choices, hard
boiled eggs, chicken, breads, and live sough Indian and egg counters!
I understand there is a good dinner selection but we didn’t go for dinner.
Children’s
activities – swimming, Zorb ball, zip line, and a whole days worth of fun zone
activities.
Signs in
the room for insect alert and monkey trouble!
I checked
for accessibility – ramps where ever there are stairs and wheelchair
availability too.
Good
service and a big well laid our property so lots of privacy.
Located
just a stone’s throw away from the action (market and lake), this is close to
the Le Meridien Resort and the Singhania bungalow.
This is an existing property – Sherwood which has been taken over by Club Mahindra and
upgraded. Like the low rise look (ground and 1st floor only). The loos
are new with shower stalls et al.
This
resort provides the old world charm of Mahabaleshwar along with mod cons and
great service. Possibly only heritage and well maintained The Club Mahabaleshwar can beat it for charm and atmosphere!
Sadly,
unlike the Club Mahindra Coorg Kodagu Valley and Goa Varca Beach properties there isn’t a separate a la carte
restaurant.
