Tequila Counter |
Chef Tania
Tovar all the way from Mexico City created a Mexican feast for Mumbai kars at
The Pondichery Café at Sofitel Mumbai BKC.
Mexican
food is guaranteed to appeal to Indians with the use of chilis, spices and
corn. Even the enchiladas, burritos and tacos are somewhat familiar – so rush
there to enjoy it for dinner till 5th February.
The wait
staff all wearing the Mexican hat – the sombrero – which is broad brimmed and
high crowned and colourful, the live music and the Tequila stand – all made for
a lively evening.
Tomato meat ball soup |
I started
with the soup – clear tomato with meat balls (bean soup in the vegetarian.
There were
several Mexican options in the main entrée section – enchiladas, a meat and shrimp
dish among others – all flavourful!
Live enchilada station |
Entrees - a Mexican Selection |
A live
enchilada counter was interesting – we chose our fillings – good choice of veg
and non veg.
Of course
there was the usual favourite fare – sushi, seafood on ice, cold meats and smoked
salmon and the grand finale – the usual delicious desserts and an assortment of
Movenpick ice creams! Tried the salted caramel – and my son, who has a dairy
allergy, had the black currant sorbet!
Very delicious!
Left feeling happy and full – as I always do
If you can’t
