Club Mahindra Varca Beach - GREAT for a family holiday

View from our sit out

We spent a wonderful week at Club Mahindra Varca Beach this May.  We opted to stay in a spacious studio apartment. Located close to the 2nd pool (nearer the beach) on the ground floor.

Spacious with a double bed, a sofa cum double bed where Vir slept, a mini kitchenette with microwave, toaster, electric kettle, sink and a dining table.

The week whizzed by with me doing NOTHING! Just sleeping, eating, swimming, hanging by the pool, reading, choosing which shack to eat lunch/dinner in, sunset walks on the beach….
Fun on the beach

The boy had the time of his life, he wanted to extend our holiday. He swam in the pool and in the sea! Caught sand crabs and let them free, Experienced  the Zorb Ball (in the pool) for the 1st time, cycled around the garden, zip lined, played games at the activity centre. The activities and the Fun Rangers kept children occupied all through the day and gave parents a much needed break.

Zorb Ball fun in the pool

We all did some water sports on the beach - Jet Ski and speed boat rides
Dune Shack is the resort’s speciality sea food restaurant near the beach – we treated ourselves one night for a fabulous sea food dinner – giant crabs, lobster, prawns and fish! Was wonderful, we got great service and fresh seafood cooked to our taste.

Svaastha Spa deserves a special mention – all 3 of us enjoyed Ayurvedic massages in a soothing ambience on par with a top rated Spa. The husband and I also visited the salon for a pedis.

We did try out the nearby shacks (Eddies & Misha) on the beach and near the resort but were quite content to eat ala carte meals in the café most of the time.

We avoided the “Fun Dining” in the buffet restaurant. The cuisine and crowds were not our scene. We sampled their western and Goan cuisine both of which were good.

We even had room service on occasion for dinner – as Vir was keen to relax after a hectic day swimming and cycling with little friends.

We didn’t venture out of Varca, being content to do nothing – as that’s what we wanted.  So we weren’t bothered by the taxi operators high fares.

All in all we had an amazing break and returned rejuvenated and refreshed

Highly recommended for a switched off vacation! Hope to make it an annual affair!
