NCPA café located at the heart of South Mumbai provides a great
alfresco dining experience.
This spacious, alfresco jewel of a cafe, located in the heart
of Mumbai’s theatre district (NCPA complex), in South Mumbai, is a hidden gem.
Those who know if become regulars and others like me, didn’t know it existed
till last week. But I am hooked now… and
can’t wait to visit again.
Visited last week with two friends, one of whom recommended
the place. Its got two sides open and is surrounded by trees so gives a welcome
sense of space.
It has an extensive menu comprising sandwiches,
snacks, Parsi specialities, tandoori and Oriental. Also a good range of
deserts. No alcohol
Here’s what we ate:
Green apple, pomegranate, lettuce, celery and feta salad with
apple cider dressing
Prawn Khao Suey (amazing- by Farrokh Khambata of Joss &
Umame fame)
Pepper crusted fish with balsamic teriyaki sauce, served with
steamed rice and sautéed veggies
Each of us had a drink – 2 diet cokes and one fresh lime soda
Its also fairly easy on the pocket for first rate food. (so
good that I forgot to photograph it)
Cant wait to return with the family
Rs 1800 inclusive of tip for 3 of us
Open from 12 noon to 10 pm. There is no bar
Valet parking is available
